McCrone Research Institute Course Schedule by Date
The curricula at McCrone Research Institute (McRI) range from basic, introductory courses emphasizing the proper use of the microscope to specialized courses that focus on a specific technique, material, or field (industrial, forensic and environmental applications). We offer more than 45 different courses, which are held at McRI and other sites. Some are offered several times each year, others annually or every other year. Tuition, Scholarships and Internships
Most of our courses are taught in five weekday sessions and are held at McRI in Chicago. Each student is supplied with a polarized light microscope and all necessary accessories, reagents and text materials.

‘On Your Site’ Courses
An important McRI objective is to increase the number of microscopy courses taught around the world. To this end, our curriculum extends beyond Chicago to universities, corporations and public laboratories in the United States and abroad. The “On Your Site” Courses program offers most of the courses taught at McRI in Chicago.

Program for Certification in Applied Chemical Microscopy
The McCrone Research Institute offers a certification as a formal way for students to be evaluated, monitored and recognized for their knowledge and practical abilities in chemical microscopy. It is meant to provide a tangible training goal and a positive structure to the student’s training.
